He stressed that unclear or conflicting drawings often lead to RFIs, construction delays, and expensive corrections.<br /><br />Key problem areas included mismatched slab edges between structural and architectural plans, ambiguous tendon extents, unclear high/low point locations, poorly defined profiles at slab steps and cantilevers, inadequate details at walls and slab connections, and missing coordination around openings, penetrations, embeds, and mechanical/electrical conduits. He also highlighted the importance of proper tendon support spacing, anchorage zone reinforcement, bursting reinforcement, and concrete strength before stressing.<br /><br />Dan showed many examples of common failures such as slab blowouts, corner failures, tendons pushed out of position around embeds or openings, and issues caused by insufficient cover or poor profiling. He emphasized that many of these problems are avoidable when engineers provide precise dimensions and details on the drawings rather than relying on assumptions.<br /><br />In the Q&A, Dan discussed stressing access in garage and ramp conditions and recommended clearly dimensioned plan details for shifted low points or special profiles.<br /><br />The session closed with a preview of upcoming webinars on PT specifications, parking structures or seismic diaphragms, and rock/soil anchors.
